You’ve clearly put a lot of effort into this task and hopefully enjoyed it along the way, this is a really well made post. I think you’ve made a really good point and sometimes Christmas doesn’t meet with our expectations. It’s actually more true than you think as the first Christmas didn’t line up with anyone’s expectations.
But as I said, your song is very well constructed, it has rhythm and rhyme and surprising and humorous imagery and you’ve still lined it up with the melody of the original song.
